How Parlae makes money
One rule: the book with the highest real, multi-book de-vig edge wins the ranking. Referrals are a monetization layer applied after the ranking — they never reorder it.
What's a referral link?
When you click Bet on [Book], some books will pay us a one-time bounty or a small revenue share for the signup. We append a tracking code (a {SUBID}) so the book can attribute the click back to us. That's it.
Does this change which book Parlae shows as best?
No. The "best edge" calculation is done by our de-vig engine using these four methods. The output goes into the referral layer; the referral layer never feeds back into it. We log every click for our own accounting, not to weight rankings.
Why are some 'Bet on …' buttons disabled for me?
We geo-gate outbound links by region. Offshore and crypto books are blocked for US visitors because they are not US-regulated and we will not send US users to them. The EV line still shows — sharps can see the price even when the link is gated. You can override your region in My Parlae once you've signed in.
Are any books paying you more for placement?
No. Books cannot pay for higher ranking. Estimated revenue-per-click (RPC) varies a lot (DFS ≈ $20–30, US books ≈ $90–150, offshore $0 to us because we don't take that money) but RPC is not in the ranking formula. We publish the live track-record so you can verify the ranking is real.
How do you log clicks?
One row per outbound click in
referral_clicks — book, surface, play, anon cookie, country (from your IP — Cloudflare's CF-IPCountry header), and the EV at click time. Conversion postbacks go to a signed endpoint (/api/public/postback) and roll up into RPC/RPU/CR per book × surface. We do not log PII.What about FTC disclosure?
The short version is shown next to every CTA: "Parlae earns a referral commission when you sign up through some books. It never changes our ranking — best edge always wins." This page is the long version.
