Fantasy football tight end rankings

0 tight ends, ordered by where drafters are taking them in PPR scoring.

Updated Oct 9, 2026 at 12:21 AM ET

Tight end is the shortest usable list in fantasy football: a handful of tight ends are used like wide receivers and score like them, and the rest are close to interchangeable, which is why the position is drafted either very early or very late and almost never in the middle.

This is the season board. The week is priced separately: Week 5 TE rankings from market data, or every position for Week 5 on one page.

Parlae start or sit calls this season: 2,272 right of 3,925 graded, 5,185 published. Misses stay up. See the record.

What changes in this view

Tight end is the thinnest starting position in fantasy football. A small number of tight ends are used like wide receivers, and everyone after them is a low, flat scorer, which is why drafts either take one early or wait a long time.

This view keeps only tight ends and re-numbers them 1 upward in PPR scoring, where a catch is worth a point and receiving tight ends separate from blocking ones most clearly.

How to draft tight ends this season

Tight end is the only position where the shape of the list matters more than the order of it. Every other position has a long, smooth slope: the twentieth wide receiver is worth clearly less than the tenth, who is worth clearly less than the first. Tight end is a short cliff followed by a flat plain. A small number of tight ends run routes on most passing plays and are targeted like a second or third receiver. Everyone after them is on the field mainly to block, catches a handful of passes a game, and scores a low, flat number that barely separates one from the next.

That shape is what produces the two strategies you see in drafts, and our own draft data shows both plainly. Either you pay the cliff price and take one of the receiving tight ends several rounds before you would take a comparable wide receiver, or you refuse to pay it and take the twelfth tight end near the end of the draft, accepting a low score in exchange for spending those early picks on running backs and receivers. What almost never works is the middle. Reaching a round early for the seventh tight end pays the premium of the first strategy while getting the output of the second.

Reception scoring is the other thing that moves this list, and it moves it more here than anywhere except wide receiver. A point per catch is worth a lot to a tight end who is genuinely a receiver and worth almost nothing to one who blocks, so PPR pulls the top of the list further away from the middle. This board is ordered in PPR because that is what most default leagues use. In standard scoring the cliff is slightly shallower, and a touchdown-scoring blocking tight end closes part of the gap.

One thing this page does not do is invent a projection to fill a hole. Where a sportsbook has posted a receiving yards, receptions or touchdown market on a tight end we price it, de-vig it and show it. Where our odds feed carries no such market, the row carries only what the drafting market says, and we say so on the row rather than guessing.

Heads up: this view currently has only 0 players with real consensus draft data, well under the 15 we require before we treat a board as complete. Very few drafts in this format have happened yet upstream, and we will not pad the list with numbers borrowed from another format. The page is left open so you can see exactly what does exist, and it fills in as the drafts come in.
