Outlier built a genuinely nice prop-research product. If what you actually need is fair pricing, line shopping and an edge flag, you can have that for free — and check our results in public before you trust them.
Outlier's strength is research: clean interface, prop-first workflow, projections and context sitting next to the number. If that's the part of betting you enjoy, it's a fair thing to pay for.
But subscriptions compound against your bankroll every month whether you bet or not. At $100 a month with $50 stakes you need roughly 40 bets at a true +5% edge just to cover the software.
Parlae takes the other route: free tools, and the burden of proof on us. Every pick our engine fires is captured before kickoff and graded afterwards at the recommended price — losses included, published where anyone can audit it.

The differentiator we'd actually defend: public grading
Almost nobody in this industry publishes their own graded results at the price they recommended, including losing days. We do, because it's the only claim a bettor can verify without trusting us.
Each pick is snapshotted pre-game with its recommended price, then settled against the official result and measured against the closing line. The record page shows W-L-P, units, ROI and the share of picks that beat the close.
Why Parlae is free — and how we eat
We make money from sportsbook referral links. If you sign up to a book through Parlae, that book may pay us. You never pay us anything, and there is no paid tier to upsell you into.
The obvious risk with that model is sponsor-ordered rankings. So we constrain ourselves in public: odds tables and +EV rows are sorted by price only — payout fields are explicitly excluded from every sort comparator, and a golden test in our codebase fails the build if that ever changes.
And every pick our engine fires is captured before the game and graded afterwards at the recommended price, wins and losses both, on our public track record page. If the model is bad, you'll see it there before we tell you.

Is Parlae really free?
Yes — no account, no card, no paid tier. The odds board, +EV scanner, calculators and tracker are all open.
How does Parlae find +EV bets?
Fair prices come from sharp books and prediction markets, de-vigged with multiplicative and power methods (we use the more conservative result), then compared live against every US book we monitor.
What's the catch?
Sportsbook referral commissions fund the site. You pay nothing, and rankings are sorted by price only — payout fields are excluded from our sort logic by design and enforced by a test.
Is Outlier better for player props?
For prop research depth — projections, splits, matchup context — yes, Outlier's tooling is more developed than ours. We're stronger on fair pricing, line shopping and on publishing our own graded results.
