D.C. launched sports betting in 2020 with a controversial Intralot-powered state monopoly (GambetDC) and limited commercial wagering at sports venues. The model was widely criticized for poor pricing.
In April 2024, FanDuel replaced GambetDC as the District-wide mobile operator. Caesars and BetMGM also operate via venue licenses at Capital One Arena and Nationals Park respectively.
Minimum age is 18 in most cases. FanDuel pricing in DC now broadly matches its national app.
