Massachusetts legalized sports betting in August 2022. Retail launched January 31, 2023 and mobile launched March 10, 2023 — timed to coincide with the start of March Madness.

All major national brands are live including DraftKings (headquartered in Boston), FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, ESPN BET, and Fanatics. Retail sportsbooks operate at Encore Boston Harbor, MGM Springfield, and Plainridge Park.

Minimum age is 21. Tax rate is 20% online and 15% retail.
