Texas does not permit legal sports betting. Despite being the second-largest US state by population and home to multiple major pro franchises, every legalization effort has failed.

Texas requires a constitutional amendment for any gambling expansion, which means a two-thirds vote in both legislative chambers plus voter approval. The 2023 session saw the closest vote yet but the bill ultimately died in the Senate.
