If Prince played baseball: second base, rated 86
Prince would play second base in baseball, rated 86 in Legends Draft MLB, the parody game where famous people play baseball. The position leans hardest on contact and fielding, where Prince rates 91 and 89. Best attribute: contact (91). A second baseman who hits for average and flies on the bases. Contact and speed lead his card, and power is the gap.

Prince as a baseball player: scouting report
Prince grew up in Minneapolis and played basketball for his high school team, so the gym was never far from the music. In this game he lands at second base, the position for a do everything player, and that describes him perfectly. On his debut album he was credited with playing all of the instruments himself, and a second baseman is asked to do a bit of everything too: field, turn two, cover first on bunts, hit at the top of the order and run.
Contact is the top mark on his card. He would be a line drive machine who can handle any pitch in any location, the way he moved between funk, rock, pop and R&B without missing a beat. Speed is the other headline rating, so he beats out infield hits and steals bases, and his eye is right behind, which keeps him on base. His fielding is elite as well; he would make the diving stop behind second look graceful. He played the halftime show at Super Bowl XLI in 2007 in a downpour and turned the rain into part of the performance, and a second baseman needs exactly that composure on a slick field.
Power is the honest weakness. He will hit few home runs, so lead him off and let your sluggers bring him home. The arm is light too, which is why second base suits him better than shortstop, although he can play short with a small drop and center field in a pinch. Pair him with a strong armed shortstop and a power bat at first. Draft him in the early rounds; his blend of contact and speed makes him one of the most dynamic leadoff men available.
