Nolan Ryan's key rookie card is the 1968 Topps #177. Nolan Ryan's rookie season was 1966. The checklist below lists 4 rookie cards by card number, each row from a cited source.
Ryan debuted with the Mets in September 1966, but his rookie card did not appear until 1968 Topps #177, a two-player Mets Rookie Stars card he shares with pitcher Jerry Koosman. The same card number also exists in a Canadian O-Pee-Chee version (marked 'Printed in Canada'), a Milton Bradley board-game version, and a scarce Venezuelan version; guides treat all four as his rookie card. His 1969 Topps #533 is his second-year card. The licensed field is left null for these vintage issues.
