How these rankings are built

Each player's 2027 line is a Marcel style projection, the public method by Tom Tango: the last three MLB seasons weighted 5, 4 and 3 for hitters and 3, 2 and 1 for pitchers, pulled toward the league average by 1,200 plate appearances or 134 innings, then adjusted for age. Playing time is half of last season plus a tenth of the one before, plus a floor. Value is the sum of z-scores in 5x5 roto categories (R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG; W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP) against a 12-team league's drafted pool, measured over a replacement-level starter at the player's best position. Positions use 2026 games: 20 at a spot, or 5 starts or 8 relief outings for pitchers. Saves follow the role a pitcher ended2026 in on his club's depth chart. Every number comes from MLB's own Stats API.
